Watch Dogs 2 still. Debating if I want to finish it or not; it feels like it has a ridiculous amount of busywork and the plot hasn't grabbed me yet. The first game had stakes; this feels like it has none.

I beat Superliminal last weekend; it was quite brief but felt like the epitome of "'strong idea, weak execution" like so many Portal wannabes.

I picked up Fall Guys again; it is a decent silly side game but not something to play every day.

And D&D continues to be fun; going to start the third adventure of the campaign next week.

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '21

I liked the first Watch Dogs more than most I think, but I only ever made like like an hour into Watch Dogs 2. I don't know why, but to me the world just feels worse. Like just driving around in the world is less fun in my opinion.

Elite dangerous. Trying to get an imperial cutter before the odyssey expansion is released for the PlayStation. It only costs 209,000,000 credits to unlock. I’m already at 50,000,000 credits so should only take me the rest of my life to get.

u/LootMogul Aug 11 '21

Assassins Creed - 2 - Can never get bored of the story of Ezio Auditore da Firenze

7

u/Sandy909090 Aug 11 '21

Just completed Dark souls 3 and now I started with Sekiro. I'm so excied. Game mechanics and game world is absolutely amazing...

6

u/khrystalloid Aug 12 '21

get ready to die a lot of times again. I loved Sekiro though. IMO best sword fighting game for me.

1

u/actuallyimbatman Aug 12 '21

Sekiro ruined me, Im so bad at that game.

18

u/Booey-fish Aug 11 '21

Still trying to kill namless king

14

u/starship9 Aug 11 '21

Divinity Original Sin 2. Bought it on sale on a whim and it's like I've stumbled upon a game I've been wanting to play all my life. Larian has made something truly special, I'd recommend it to anyone and everyone.

5

u/LotusB1ossom Aug 11 '21

If you're able to find some friends with it, try multiplayer mode. Did both a 4 person campaign and a 2 person lone wolf and holy hell it might be the best co-op experience out there. Especially as one guy was new to the game, and was flipping out (int he most humorous of ways) over how challenging it can be at times

1

u/starship9 Aug 12 '21

I'm actually looking for a more single-player experience atm, but thanks for the suggestion! I'll keep it in mind if I replay it someday!

5

u/OPsButthole6969 Aug 11 '21

I want to play prototype PC. Is there a fix for the limited CPU core stuff yet or?

3

u/TylerTalk_ Aug 11 '21

Bought a GameBoy color and fired up pokemon red. I love gaming nostalgia from my childhood.

3

u/RealPhoneixBoi69 Aug 11 '21

Trackmania: Nations Forever.

I have less than 10 tracks to finish the whole game, I've only played about 25 hours of the game. 65 tracks total and the final track takes about an hour or less when driven perfectly.

Many players have found shortcuts that that save about few milliseconds to many hours Trackmania players are very creative when finding shortcuts in tracks made by other players.

I'm happy to be within this underrated community. Here are a few notable players in the community:

Rollin

Hefest

WaveDemon

racehans

donadigo

Wirtual

3

u/SpectifyyYT Aug 11 '21

2

u/manincheeta Aug 12 '21

that's fucking awesome. glgl

7

u/yulsic11 Aug 11 '21

Persona 5 and stardew valley

8

u/Which-Palpitation Aug 11 '21

Just finished Disco Elysium, I don’t usually like RPGs but this was pretty good. The motive for the murder you’re investigating was a let down though, you go from a shoot out with mercenaries to an old man being obsessed over a woman

8

u/poncorkeofrivia Aug 11 '21

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

I don't know why it's claimed to be the best. I am not impressed so far with the story. Pirating on the sea was fun for the first 20 times I boarded a ship but now it's rather a chore for making money and materials. I like the shanties and the characters though.

5

u/TitaniumDragon Aug 11 '21

It is overrated. The concept of being a pirate is much stronger than the game actually is. It ends up being very repetitive as the sea combat never evolves outside of four secret endgame side bosses, and the story and land areas are both mediocre.

5

u/voxelboxthing PC Aug 11 '21

im split between 5 games at the moment.. trying to finish achievements for cyberpunk, everquest, metal gear solid, metal gear solid 2, and the ascent (as well as a few random games here and there)

3

u/Best_Picture_clips Aug 11 '21

Dragon Ball FighterZ, trying out the new patch is going to take some getting use too

2

u/Snoo61755 Aug 11 '21

“Until You Fall”.

VR game I impulse-bought. Simple, has a few gripes, but I was looking for a melee-oriented combat VR game, and it’s scratching that itch. Even gives bonus damage for full swings.

I totally do a little jump whenever I do an overhead power attack with the axe.

2

u/SuperSquid990 Aug 11 '21

Nothing because I'm on holiday with no way to play games. Am certainly missing dark souls 3.

2

u/Santoz1 Aug 11 '21

Dragon quest 🐉

2

u/Celtic_Crown Aug 11 '21

I'm playing Kingdom Hearts 3. Loving it, currently in The Carribean. Gonna need to find more Lucky Emblems though.

2

u/scoutarment Aug 11 '21

Waiting for the weekend to start Assassin’s Creed IV

2

u/Rosendoom2 Aug 11 '21

Finally getting around to playing through Hollow Knight, as well as replaying The Last of Us Part 2.

2

u/WoomyMan9000 Switch Aug 11 '21

ACNH, Skyward Sword HD, and Splatoon 2

2

u/Milo_May Aug 11 '21

A switch gamer, I see...

2

u/ALitterOfPugs Aug 11 '21

Dragon age Inquisition and Tekken 7… DAI is underrated

2

u/Daredevil200 Aug 12 '21

AC4, so far it's my second favourite but I am only 50% through the story so I guess I will see if I end up feeling the same way

2

u/Amazing-Midnight8063 Aug 12 '21

La noire play it every year. Only game of its kind and it’s also just super based and shits on Hollywood. It’s probably a top 3 game of all time For me

2

u/caffeinated-aquarius Aug 12 '21

Video Game - Skyrim. Just picked it up again after a failed D&D campaign. Unfortunately my PS4 has been well used so it's kind of buggy on my end.

Board Game - Horrified. Just learned that they're working on a standalone expansion and I am so excited.

Card Game - Friday. Just won my very first game. Time to up the difficulty.

u/Genome-Soldier24 Aug 11 '21

Back on Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain! Been watching too many YouTube videos on its hidden meanings and thus have gotten sucked back in.

1

u/voxelboxthing PC Aug 11 '21

good choice.

1

u/ryvon21 Aug 11 '21

I want to watch these videos!! Any good ones you can link?

1

u/Genome-Soldier24 Aug 11 '21

This one: https://youtu.be/hV4wY2rjAWY is absolutely amazing and really surprising the level of depth that went right over my head.

On top of that, this channel future sound productions has quite a few deep dives: https://youtu.be/WJ3FwReJx6E. I’m not going to say everything that he says is 100% accurate but he still delves into things very deeply and even just understanding that so much thought went into mgsv is so cool!

1

u/Flposmain Aug 11 '21

I tried to listen to that first one but his speaking skill is not good enough to hold up for that long. Working on the second one right now and liking it a lot so far

1

u/BluRige00 Aug 11 '21

Yeah it seemed interesting but he really failed to give any context for people who haven’t played the game

1

u/Flposmain Aug 15 '21 edited Aug 15 '21

I was talking more his actual speaking skill. Very difficult to listen to. You can tell he doesn't get out much

Edit: he gets better. Just early on he seems to have issue infecting his voice and controlling the pace. Glad I soldiered on because the video is great.

3

u/imsuperhygh Aug 11 '21

Final Fantasy 14. Trying to get enough money to get a house in game. Once i do im gonna start decorating.

2

u/Ace3000 Aug 11 '21 edited Aug 11 '21

Sonic 3 AIR. Got up to Flying Battery Zone, all Super Emeralds. It's a classic, I'm definitely having fun with it!

2

u/jauc432 Aug 11 '21

sadly, my soul is bonded to league of legend , because I can't fine any other good free game.

2

u/BlakeMichigan Aug 11 '21

Dwarf Fortress and League got me through my broke college days. Both free and very replayable.

Dwarf Fortress is like a colony simulator/warehouse manager type game that has a pretty significant learning curve, but once I tackled the curve it became a mainstay in my gaming cycle. (Mainly League, Crusader Kings 3, and Dwarf Fortress)

2

u/jauc432 Aug 12 '21

I tried crusader kings 3 before and I kinda enjoyed it, but I really dislike booting up steam and then waiting for crusader to actually load, but the dwarf fortress I did hear about it but I didn't know it was free, so thanks man.

2

u/BarrelSmash Aug 12 '21

Wanted to get my partner into survival games, so started with 7 days to die. Having a lot of fun :)

1

u/Royalsaga Aug 12 '21

Great game, especially with someone! Good choice

1

u/BarrelSmash Aug 12 '21

Yeah, I know it's been in alpha for 7 years and is still a little rough around the edges, but it's come a long way. And the zombie movement/reaction is still way better than so many other games.

That and being able to just dig a tunnel anywhere you please keeps me playing more. My partner has never played survival games before and surprisingly got into it pretty quickly, loves scavenging and all the various things you can do. Wasn't sure how well it would go as she generally is into games with a proper story.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '21

Slipgate

1

u/Flave-93 Aug 11 '21

Hollow knight randomizer

1

u/Yserian Aug 11 '21

1

u/ezaF19 Aug 11 '21

My friends (3-5 people) and I were playing Back 4 Blood since last week, but it's on maintenance from yesterday till tomorrow morning so we're trying to find games to play.

Tonight we're about to try Deceit which I think we'll enjoy for about a week.

Any suggestions on what else to play? We mostly prefer shooter, PvE, non-competitive games since we don't really have time for ranked and stuff. We're just trying to find a game to bond to after work to play for about 2-3 hours.

EDIT: I forgot to mention they refuse to buy games. So the suggestion should be f2p. They're weird but they're my friends.

1

u/manincheeta Aug 12 '21

splitgate is fun as fuck

1

u/NiceNiceGravy Aug 11 '21

Stellaris and Watch Dogs Legion. I like having an action game and a strategy game to switch between

1

u/drjisftw Aug 11 '21

I got the Wolfenstein collection for cheap and I'm about halfway through The New Order.

It's not bad - definitely feels a bit dated though as a previous generation shooter. I think both the Old Blood and the New Colossus are supposed to be steps up.

Will space out those entries through with some indie titles in-between. Excited to be able to play Hades on Playstation Friday!

1

u/Conditional-Sausage Aug 11 '21

Planning to start S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly. Maybe some Stellaris once I get sufficiently frustrated.

1

u/TooTall_95 Aug 11 '21

Mech Armada, a turn-based tactics game from a solo developer. Early Access so it's a little basic, but fun to play.

1

u/kkiniaes Aug 11 '21

Just downloaded fallout new vegas because it was on sale for like $4 on Steam. Excited to finally try it!

1

u/FoldenInHalf-pp Aug 11 '21

god of war 18

Assetto corsa. As i have been every day for quite a while now. Very addictive if you have a good rig!

1

u/ryvon21 Aug 11 '21

Finishing Metro Exodus on PS5, I'd never played any of them before and decided to play the whole trilogy. Almost done now, and I loved it all! Especially on Ranger mode.

1

u/Lazyboi516 Aug 11 '21

Stardew valley and i'm replaying overlord

1

u/K2smoothy Aug 11 '21

I’m thinking of getting the original fallout, or disco Elysium. Want something laid back. Haven’t had much time to game cause of working and the gym so something that’s not an investment

1

u/jakalarf Aug 11 '21

Omori. fun game, intriguing story that keeps me wanting to know what happens next

1

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '21

Cold War and Dead Space franchise.

1

u/Flposmain Aug 11 '21

Finally jumped on Death Stranding. They sure like holding your hand in this game, huh? Just started Chapter 3

1

u/Cukinator Aug 11 '21

I've been playing league of legends because i cant find anything else to play

Help

1

u/nightwalkerxx Aug 11 '21

I actually got a question. There was a game, released a while back. A PC puzzle game that had solving mode and a free mode. There were bowling balls, fans, pipes, fire crackers, planks and so many other knick knacks you can place to create a sort of domino effect. It was kind of cartoony. Usually played in class at lunch in the computer lab.

Anyone know it name?

1

u/darnold316 Aug 11 '21

Finishing up my first playthrough of Fire Emblem Three Houses. I'm on the last mission of the Crimson Dawn ending, and should be finishing it tonight.

1

u/Own_Opposite379 Aug 11 '21

Genshin impact

1

u/Ciaoforever Aug 11 '21

Making custom maps in aoe2. I'm trying to make impenetrable fortresses for me and a friend to pick at random and besiege each other.

1

u/take5b Aug 11 '21

Wrapping up Spiritfarer. Playing it after watching the lovely documentary by The Escapist. This will likely conclude my summer of chill cute indy games, following Undertale and Stardew Valley, playing on a Switch I bought for Nintendo games that I quickly abandoned.

Spiritfarer is described as “a cozy management game about death.” You just sail around doing chores for cute animal-people until they die, it’s nice

1

u/ibmclasperd2aw Aug 11 '21

The defi game that has got me hooked this period is Cometh. Cometh is a game and as a player you control space ships orbiting round giant stars and your goal is to position yourself close to asteroids passing by. When you are close enough, you will be a ble to mine tokens from the asteroids. Smart asteroids are smart contracts representing asteroids in the game. A smart contract can collect all sorts of ethereum based assets.. I've been so devoted playing this game that I won a lot of ERC-20 coins.

1

u/FelidaeSocialis Aug 11 '21

Just finished The Saboteur. Good old times when EA was good. Here is a pic.

1

u/Dramatic-Dimension86 Aug 11 '21

New Vegas, where i have removed limbs buy shooting them in the face

1

u/Solarknight7 Aug 11 '21

I've been playing AC Odyssey ahead of FINALLY getting Valhalla for my birthday on the 14th. Haven't played it in ages.

3

u/actuallyimbatman Aug 12 '21

Valhalla is actually pretty fun. Happy early birthday

1

u/Solarknight7 Aug 12 '21

Thank you 😊

1

u/TheJohnnyWombat Aug 11 '21

Super mega baseball 3 and Arkham knight (never finished on PC playing on ps5 now)

1

u/sentientlob0029 Aug 11 '21

The Ascent on PC (Gamepass).

1

u/penguinReloaded Aug 11 '21

Skyward Sword, still. SPOILER (though small): I loved the pirate ship dungeon in Laranyu Desert! Favorite section of the game so far. Playing with traditional controls & really enjoying the world & the game.

1

u/hacbao92 Aug 12 '21

Stickman, AoV, Rise of Kingdom...

1

u/GiftOfHemroids Aug 12 '21

Have been in a rut for some time not really enjoying any games until I played A Plague Tale, and wow what a great game.

Now I'm playing The Outer Worlds and its really good! Gamepass is pretty legit.

1

u/Juaks Aug 12 '21

I got the Tomb Raider collection sale and having some nostalgia awesomeness.

Also enjoying lawn mower simulator.

1

u/Larielia Switch Aug 12 '21

Stardew Valley. I've almost collected enough materials to a build a barn. Went with fruit bats for the cave.

1

u/Consistent_Team7170 Aug 12 '21

Chivalry 2, just got it's first big update and I'm having a lot of fun with it. It's a great game to chill out with after a long hard days work

1

u/Glitchcoder Aug 12 '21

Probably not that original but splitgate. The portal mechanic is so fun to mess around with and there’s endless ways to use it!

1

u/Elsenfritsz Aug 12 '21

Hunters Arena Legend the game is actually pretty good currently, with it just being free this month on Playstation the player base even whent up. I feel like this is a game that started ugly but has some potential now.

1

u/DeborahCritelli Aug 12 '21

Persona 5 and stardew valley

1

u/Analyst_Rude Aug 12 '21

Apex Legends season 10 ranked, untill Ive had enough of maximum sweating.

Then dark souls remastered until I've had enough of Miyazaki deathtraps.

Then a bit of No Man's Sky to chill.

And Pokémon go with the kids in the daytime.

1

u/alotofms Aug 12 '21

Gonna try and finish rdr 2.

1

u/Ill-Respond-2418 Aug 12 '21

It’s Wednesday my dude

1

u/Antipotheosis Aug 12 '21

I just finished all endings of NieR Replicant (square root of 1.5). Now I'm playing Nekopara volume 4, with the DLC/patch.

1

u/SonsOfFinwe Aug 12 '21

Elite dangerous. Trying to get an imperial cutter before the odyssey expansion is released for the PlayStation. It only costs 209,000,000 credits to unlock. I’m already at 50,000,000 credits so should only take me the rest of my life to get.

1

u/thoughtfulandthotful Aug 12 '21

Days Gone. I tried to play it before and thought it was boring so I took it back. Got it for free on PS Plus recently and tried it again. Once I got past the intro mission things started picking up. Now I’m hooked. The story is still kinda meh to me but they gameplay is great. I might go so far as to say that this title is underrated.

1

u/TrueSaiyanGod Aug 12 '21

Deus Ex mods

Started with Redsun 2020

Will play Nihilum and Zodiac next

1

1

u/boopthesn0op Aug 12 '21

I just started mass effect trilogy, the game so far is like if kotor met Deus ex and battlefield. Just left citadel and my first planet I’m traveling to I’m riding around in a tank

1

u/kugel_blitz_ Aug 12 '21

Battlefield 1.... Revisited it!.... It has the most satisfying sniping mechanic I've seen

1

u/Boofenshmooz Aug 12 '21

DOOM eternal, that game is legendary

1

u/Caridor Aug 12 '21

Tried the Back 4 Blood beta, requested a refund. It's like someone explained what Left 4 Dead was, but very briefly, so the person didn't get any of the sound design aspects that made that game feel so great.

2

u/patriotsfan1991 Aug 13 '21

Sad to hear was really hoping this was like left 4 dead.

1

u/Caridor Aug 13 '21

It is like Left 4 Dead but it's the "We have Left 4 Dead at home" version. I think the biggest problem is they used all the good ideas on Left 4 Dead, so to avoid copyright, they've had to scrape the cutting room floor. All they've got are the ideas that weren't good enough for the original.

1

u/AdZealousideal6959 Aug 12 '21

Arkham Knight the story for the game is alright, some boss fights sucks, to much batmobile even though i think its fun, amazing gameplay, and great voice acting.

1

u/Moonlight_Equality Aug 12 '21

I just started Just Cause 3, it loads up really fast on the Ps5, and feels really smooth too. So far so good. :)

1

u/temetnoscesax Aug 13 '21
