Fifa and it sucks

2

u/DantheMan21234 Jul 23 '21

PES 2021 is pretty good if you want a good football experience. Thought this is more for PC because of MODS. FIFA does suck though.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

I bought this a few months ago and blew ass at it so I gave up, but a few weeks ago I started a new save and given it another go and I love it a lot. So glad I came back to it! Currently learning my way around the final boss.

5

u/take5b Jul 21 '21

Oh, good for you, this is quite an intense and awesome game.

3

u/unseasoned_chicken Jul 21 '21

Yeah it is. It's become my new second favourite FromSoft game (behind Bloodborne)!

3

u/gnarkilleptic Jul 21 '21

I got it from the steam summer sale. I played through the intro just to get a taste but waiting until I finish Control first. It's my first Souls game lol I'm scared

2

u/Cryio Jul 22 '21

Don't forget to use DXVK ASYNC for Sekiro for that perfect frametime pacing and to vastly reduce the CPU bound nature of the game, for better performance.

1

u/unseasoned_chicken Jul 21 '21

They are difficult for sure, but the fun kind of difficult, not the frustrating kind of difficult.

Although YouTube rage compilations may suggest otherwise

2

u/davegir Jul 23 '21

Yeah sort of the same, ive learned not everyone must die when I first see them.....but they should. A tough play through

13

u/onlydaathisreal Jul 21 '21

Playing Civilization V on tiny map with 12 civs and 12 city-states. Its kind of hilarious to see all the civs frantically landgrab everything they can.

Ive been spamming settlers in tiny crevices of unclaimed land and selling it to other civs. Sold one city to a civ who’s main city is on the other side of the continent. The civ neighboring the city i sold waged a war on them to get the land. Its deliciously evil and fun

2

u/Boogieman191919 Jul 21 '21

You monster!!

2

u/KGhaleon Jul 21 '21

You made me want to play another Civ game. I think I've got all of them except 6.

1

u/onlydaathisreal Jul 22 '21

Ive tried to get into VI but i feel like I’ve just mastered the mechanics of V. VI is fun but I feel like V and III are my favorites

11

u/Revanchistr PC Jul 21 '21

Fallout 2

4

u/onlydaathisreal Jul 21 '21

I just finished fallout for the first time in forever snd im gonna start my first playthrough of fallout 2 soon!

2

u/Revanchistr PC Jul 21 '21

It's been a few months since I finished OG Fallout. Fell in love with it! I just started F2 yesterday and it's amazing so far.

3

u/TNJedGrig Jul 21 '21

My personal and probably controversial opinion is that its the best of the Interplay games.

1

u/KGhaleon Jul 21 '21

Glad people are still trying the classics. I always used that exploit where you get the power armor early on from the base.

11

u/Liucipher Jul 21 '21

Yakuza 3. Hasn't aged the greatest, but still a fun ride.

1

u/Buster_Fella Jul 22 '21

I plan on starting Yakuza soon as I've always had it for PS+ but only looked into it now. Game looks amazing!

7

u/Astragar Jul 21 '21

Risk of Rain 2, and back on Hellpoint now that I finished Hollow Knight for the third time.

7

u/PhillykidCoooney Jul 21 '21

I've been on Splitgate.. it's like if halo and portal had a love child.. it should be free on Steam, Xbox, and PSN. If anyone is already playing or is gonna get it I'ma put my referral code at the bottom so we can get some rewards.

2

u/PhillykidCoooney Jul 22 '21

2

u/antonio_dias26 PlayStation Jul 22 '21

I’ve recently started breakpoint too :), are u enjoying it?

2

u/Yourniecesdaddy Jul 23 '21 edited Jul 23 '21

Yes, I’m really liking the game. However, University has me quite tied up, I wish I had more time to play it.

How about yourself?

2

u/antonio_dias26 PlayStation Jul 23 '21

Dude that’s so nice, don’t worry you’ll have more free time on your vacations! But I’ve been playing it with a friend of my on ps4 and I’ve been having a blast! It’s only relaxing, been loving the scenery and environments

5

u/take5b Jul 21 '21

Still playing Stardew Valley. But I have completed the major objectives so I don’t know how much longer I’ll keep going. Just not feeling ready to start/learn a new game.

6

u/Tasius Jul 21 '21

Just finished 100% on Hades. Amazing game.

1

u/dorkknight Jul 23 '21

Bought it at Christmas but only finally started it a month ago. I cannot put it down. It's almost like Civ. "Just one more chamber and I'll go to sleep."

1

u/fs2d Jul 23 '21

300+ clears later.. I'm still doing the same thing. Bought it in EA in 2019 and still love it.

13

u/MrBorden Jul 21 '21

RDR2. Second playthrough after two years. First playthrough completed on 32" 1080p screen.

Playing this on my new 65" OLED is revelatory. Visually, it's a generation ahead of everything else. The last time I shouted "Holy fucking shit" at the screen was at the MGS2 tanker intro.

3

u/KGhaleon Jul 21 '21

It's still on my backlog. I know it's amazing so I'm holding off until I have a loooot of free time.

1

u/CzarTyr Jul 22 '21

I’ve been waiting for a ps5 60fps patch. I considered buying it again on pc but meh

4

u/SushiMage Jul 21 '21

Visually, it's a generation ahead of everything else.

Maybe in 2018-2019, not anymore, though. A number of newer titles are better in terms of model texture and detail (though it's still no slouch there).

It's still one of the better games in terms of nature backdrop and lighting though. Especially during the sunrise or sunset, especially if you're in a forest or saint denise.

3

u/Cryio Jul 22 '21

Not anymore? Aside from ... Ratchet, Demon's Souls, Death Stranding, AC Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, Doom Eternal and Rage 2, what else was pushing visuals to the point of overtaking RDR2?

1

u/SushiMage Jul 22 '21

If you weren't being facetious, literally listing one game puts it out of the "ahead of everything else" category, nevermind eight.

Also some of these you listed definitely didn't overtake RDR2 in terms of graphics lol.

2

u/Cryio Jul 22 '21

That's my point. Those are the most high profile releases since RDR2 and neither is outdoing RDR2 in any capacity ...

1

u/SushiMage Jul 22 '21

.....? Huh. Then I'm not sure what you're trying to argue here. We're talking about visuals.

I said there are games that have outdone RDR2 in terms of visuals since 2018, and you proceed to list games that don't beat it out in visuals?

Since when outdoing something visually only limited to high profile games? And also, it's wrong lol. Cyberpunk, TLOU2, Ghost of Tsushima (spiritual successor of RD2 in terms of visuals), RE8, and many more beat out RDR2 in terms of model texture and those are all high profile releases and in the case of GoT and Cyberpunk, matches up in terms of visual backdrop. What are you even talking about lol.

1

u/CzarTyr Jul 22 '21

It’s also still in my backlog but might be my next game.

So far last of us 2 is the best looking game I’ve ever seen and I primarily game on pc

4

u/moistsoybeans Jul 21 '21

I got interested in the fallout saga and was thinking about buying them, they give me that vibe I can’t describe that freaks me out but interests me never the less, gonna play them soon prob

3

u/Russian_hat12 Jul 21 '21

1

u/CzarTyr Jul 22 '21

Freaking love that game I’ll never understand the hate

0

u/tjlx93 Jul 22 '21

It was popular to hate on and people jumped on the bandwagon lol. I love it and im playing it for the 5th time.

2

u/katchow Jul 23 '21

Pretty much gamers with every popular releases

3

u/inhuman2202 Jul 21 '21

League of Legends with friends

This game is so frustrating to paly alone, but with friends... It's another story :p

3

u/YDAQ Jul 21 '21

Tropico 6. I'm constantly running in the red but it's still a blast.

3

u/LoathfulLothCat94 Jul 21 '21

Finally got a ps5 last night so I decided to replay Final Fantasy 7R. I already have 6 hours in it. I think I maaaay have a problem.

Pikmin 3. GOTTA CATCH EM ALL! I NEED ALL THE FRUIT. THIS TEAM WILL NOT MOVE ON TO ANY OTHER MAP UNTIL THE FRUIT UP TO THIS POINT ARE ACQUIRED. This game is not for the OCD.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

New world, it came out yesterday so no life time (well as soon as my job is done gotta pay the billz first)

1

u/Alphascout Jul 21 '21

What’s it like??

2

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

Not OP but it’s been fun. The crafting system seems deep and is very fun. World seems cool, world chat is fun, and gameplay feels smooth. 8/10 experience so far, questing is the only thing that feels a little bland but it’s the beginning of the game so who knows how that will go.

1

u/davegir Jul 23 '21

Soo...its an mmo from the description? Haven't heard of it.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '21

Yup, buy to play, 40 bucks. If you like mmos I think it’s something you should at least try!

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

Since it is beta there are still bugs to be fixed but overall very amusing and fun

2

u/Candid-Jockey Jul 21 '21

I just started playing It Takes Two with my kids.

It's wonderful so far. Fantastic couch coop game.

3

u/gnarkilleptic Jul 21 '21

Playing that with my GF. Such a fun game and it always stays fresh with the new mechanics constantly being added

1

u/fs2d Jul 23 '21

Wait, they update it constantly? I just bought it last night and my wife and I played for like 4 hours, I thought it was a linear story and that was it??

1

u/gnarkilleptic Jul 23 '21

Sorry I meant level to level mechanics change. No dlc lol

2

u/Greenyboyyyyyyyys Jul 21 '21

I played the trial with my friend on ps4 and it plays very nice

2

u/KGhaleon Jul 21 '21

Game is on discount right now. Not my type of game, but it's cheaper for those who do want to play it.

2

u/itsjustgoldman Jul 21 '21

About to dive into Dark Souls! I've dabbled in DS1 and 2 (never got very far in either) as well as Bloodborne (got past father gaskwagnee), but I'm not stopping this time till I beat it!

2

u/darnold316 Jul 21 '21

I've been playing Fire Emblem Three Houses for the past couple weeks, and I've been hooked since the first day. I just got to the point on Monday where I had to make the choice, and I am now the leader of the Black Eagle Strike Force.

2

u/BarackObongma Jul 21 '21

If someone wants to play BF1 on PC I have 1 key for it...just DM me. First come first serve!

2

u/half-giant Jul 21 '21

Got back into Don’t Starve randomly. It’s such a fun mix of survival, crafting, base-building and combat. Always something to stay busy. I’ve only played the Reign of Giants and Shipwrecked DLC’s and might pick up Hamlet soon, although it looks a little intimidating with all the new content they’ve added.

2

u/el_awesomo Jul 22 '21

I’ve played it on and off for years, but never really “beaten it” let alone been brave enough for dlcs. Any tips?

1

u/half-giant Jul 22 '21

I’d definitely play no-DLC for a bit just to get a feel for daily tasks and season changes. You won’t have too many threats to worry about other than occasional hounds.

-Start with Wilson, he has no negative status effects and grows a beard which keeps him warm in the winter. When you’ve unlocked them Willow is great with her unlimited fire and Wendy is awesome with her ghost buddy.

-Explore along the coastlines and use the roads; you’ll quickly open up the map.

-Set up your base near beefalo or rabbit fields; you want food to be easy and accessible. Traps are an incredibly easy way to get morsels.

-Make as many drying racks as you can; you hang raw meat, wait a few days and then you have jerky which takes much longer to rot.

-The crockpot is also invaluable; you can toss just about any food in there and get a substantial meal as a result. Just be careful not to use more than 1 monster meat….

-Try to find gears ASAP to make an icebox for food storage. They are always found in the robots guarding the level exit. You can trick the robots into fighting local wildlife or strap on a helmet/armor and fight them; they don’t have much health.

-When winter comes, make a thermal stone and warm it by the fire — it will carry heat temporarily and keep you from freezing.

-After you’ve fought enough hounds and have a few Hounds teeth, you can make them into spring-loaded traps that you bury in the ground. Eventually you can make an entire kill field that you can lure hounds or anything into.

Okay, last thing—

There are two ways to “beat” the game. In regular Survival Mode, you must find all 4 loose pieces (“Crank thing”, “Ring thing”, etc) and take them to the exit portal (the place surrounded by marble statues and robots). You then exit the map permanently and start a brand new world. You can bring a few items with you as well as pre-built items in your menu. You can continue on indefinitely going from one world to the next like this. This is a way to gain experience towards unlocking new characters without dying.

The other is much more difficult. You have to find Maxwell’s Door (an evil looking doorway with a face, usually surrounded by trees) and hop in, taking you into Adventure Mode. It’s 5 chapters long and each one is themed differently. You must do the same in Survival and find each loose piece to progress to the next chapter. If you die, you get spat back out in front of Maxwells Door just as you were when you entered.

Personally I have only ever successfully completed Adventure Mode once, and the ending was very surprising. I used Wigfrid from the Reign of Giants DLC; she can only eat meat but she’s insanely strong and crafts her own helmet and spear. She can single-handedly kill giants and it’s pretty badass.

This ended up turning into an essay, lol. Even worse is I could go on! There are so many cool and unexpected things with this game including many aspects I’m still learning after years of playing. Hope this wasn’t too overwhelming. If you have any specific questions feel free to DM me anytime. Have fun and happy exploring!

2

u/Sigma_F0x Jul 22 '21

Which SCPs have you died to so far?

2

u/Poop_and_farts Jul 23 '21

Mainly 173 lol

2

u/Sigma_F0x Jul 23 '21

Ah yes, the sweet release of the crunch lol

u/Cryio Jul 22 '21

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is a masterpiece in visuals, sound design, voice acting, cut scene direction and viscerality in general. It also goes for the heart string and gut reactions. And I love it!

However ... the PC port is between masterful to boneheaded. Superb visuals, superb optimization, perfect frame pacing, unlocked fps, adjustable FOV, everything bleeding edge technically as of late 2017 (Vulkan, heavily multithreaded, volumetric lighting, tessellation, Async Compute, Rapid Packed Math, Shader Intrinsics, Variable Rate Shading, Dynamic Resolution). And still, game crashes ALL the time if you use TSSAA instead if anything else. Game will happily crash if it detects the most infinitisimal unstable overclock/undervolt. Game will crash if texture pool setting is set higher than your VRAM, because the game doesn't know how to dynamically allocated virtual VRAM, so you need to set Memory Pool to a lower setting. "Deferred Rendering" doesn't ever want to stay enabled either. Dynamic Resolution doesn't work past 60 fps either.

Alone in the Dark: Inferno via RPCS3 (PS3 emulator). The devs that made the game added some serious quality of life improvements with the PS3 version, that sadly never got backported to PC or X360. I'm finally playing the game now, on the emulator, 4K30 fps and it's glorious. Perfect visuals / performance, lovely tweaks to the gameplay all around. Visuals just slightly degraded (volumetric lighting has been removed)

2

u/Jupirex Jul 21 '21

FFXIV, love it

u/SethDraconis Jul 22 '21

Truly the best.

warzone. no doubt

1

u/terr-rawr-saur Jul 21 '21

Snowrunner/Cities Skylines.

Cities needs to have more building variations. And more shapes. Like corner buildings. Its the worst thing when a block isnt perfectly square and odd shaped buildings get put up or you just cant fit anything that looks nice.

u/SenorPooter Jul 21 '21

Diablo 3 and BF4

1

u/Buster_Fella Jul 21 '21

I'm on the final boss of Xenoblade 2 but I keep putting off playing it.

I just started Mirror's Edge Catalyst yesterday and am loving everything about it.

I think I'm gonna buy Digimon Cyber Sleuth for Switch next since I'm gonna be done with XC2.

1

u/Alphascout Jul 21 '21

Playing Tell Me Why Chapter 2. I’m liking the story and the new memory ability. It’s interesting to see different themes explored and a trans main character.

1

u/gnarkilleptic Jul 21 '21

Control, It Takes Two, Sekiro

1

u/TNJedGrig Jul 21 '21

Always playing Phoenix Point, want to beat it before the next big update this time. I've also started playing around with the Baldur's Gate 3 early access. I'm extremely impressed but like all games of the type im concerned about replayability.

1

u/fs2d Jul 22 '21

If I've learned anything from Larian over the last few years, especially from DOS2, its that their games have crazy replayability just because of how flexible their engines are. :D

1

u/TNJedGrig Jul 22 '21

I'm hoping so. I worry that I'm going to explore everything in early access and not be interested when the game actually releases.

1

u/SonicMTD Jul 21 '21

I’m thinking of live-streaming Control on my PS4. Yay frame rate crashes!

u/donkey-fucker69 Xbox Jul 21 '21

Battlefield 4 and Wolfenstein the new order

1

Fallout New Vegas. Just started my 1st play in a couple years. The last one ended abruptly as I was trying out an Explosives build and I blew up the lady's dog in the tutorial. So now I'm going impossibly high luck and charisma, and have Boone do all the dirty work.

1

u/CazGameDesignLLC PC Jul 21 '21

I'm finally trying to get into The Witcher series and starting with the first game. I'm looking forward to getting into the lore and learning about all the monsters. Been getting more into fantasy lately (just started reading A Song of Ice and Fire), so it feels like it's finally time to strap on a sword and slay some monsters. I haven't played many PC games from the first game's time having only built my first PC a couple years ago, so it's going to be a learning curve.

I know that I'm a day late but I finished Xenoblade Chronicles 2 today. For all its flaws I liked it. I guess a game that gives me sentimental value makes me ignore the flaws more. That ending was beautiful. I'm gonna start the prequel tomorrow.

On PS4, I have been playing Mirror's Edge Catalyst. I only got it three days ago and I am loving it so far. I'm grinding the game right now but think I'm gonna need a game on the side to make it not get repetitive. I think I'm gonna buy Fallout 4 (GOTY Editon) and Skyrim. Very hyped as I have never played either before!

Playing Pubg this weekend only cause I like the realistic mechanics in the game with bullet drop, leading, scoping.

Slay the Spire. It is always interesting to find a new combination of cards and go through the game with it.
