Dark souls 2

4

u/minoas348 Jun 16 '21

Niiice!! What kind of build?

3

u/yax51 Jun 16 '21

Haven't gotten it yet. Going to today

5

u/PsychoxLogical Jun 17 '21

Dark souls is the most satisfying series

-2

u/evanarmy2011 Jun 17 '21

Bloodborne is more satisfying :)

3

u/Wado_Guy Jun 18 '21

It’s a different game altogether. I love the entire series, but different games for different moods, you know?

2

u/evanarmy2011 Jun 18 '21

It’s a different game altogether. I love the entire series, but different games for different moods, you know?

that's true. I just like how it's more fast paced. But, both are great! Amazing actually.

u/take5b Jun 17 '21

Cool.

DS2 was my first attempt at a FromSoftware game. I didn't know what I was getting into so of course I rage quit rather quickly.

It was only after a couple of years, changing my gaming platform, and playing Bloodborne and DS1:remastered that I came back to my first timer and platinumed. Certainly one of the most satisfying gaming achievements for me.

DS2 is a quirky weird game with a lot going on, so you will certainly have plenty of entertainment value, especially if you played any of the others. Enjoy!

2

u/MackySacky Jun 16 '21

Looking back on it, the biggest issue i have with the game is lifegems. its basically an estus that heals you slowly over time instead of instantly. Which sounds reasonable at first, but then you get the option to buy them for cheap, and before long you are walking around with 99 lifegems in your inventory healing up to full hp after each battle.

Of course the game was designed around them existing so I'm not saying dont use em, but maybe dont buy 99 of them at the first chance you get like I did. Enjoy your first playthrough.

2

u/xRule63x Jun 17 '21

Can't you only hold 5?

2

u/MightBeWombats Jun 17 '21

Use the mace. You're welcome. Seriously though almost every enemy is armored and crush damage obliterates them.

Too old

9

u/SUNTZU_JoJo Jun 16 '21

No game is too old to be played....as long as you're having fun.

5

u/yax51 Jun 16 '21

Bout to start Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart

10

u/justntn610 Jun 16 '21

Ps4 Ratchet and Clank. Can't seem to find a ps5 in the wild.

4

u/PharmDonnelly Jun 16 '21

I am playing this as well since I’ve intrigued by rift apart but never played a ratchet and clank game. It’s good but the transitions to cutscenes is awkward and takes away from some of the charm that I feel the game otherwise would have. It’s fun, though. Guns are great I’ve laughed several times. I’d give it an 8 out of 10.

1

u/bumfungusCEO Jun 17 '21

I love that one

The old 2016-ish one right?

8

u/Suitapes Jun 16 '21

Fallout New Vegas (still siding with the NCR)

P.s. I’m gonna get a new game! What do you guys recommend? Devil May Cry 5 or Fallout 4?

5

u/Alone_Capital7619 Jun 17 '21

Degenerates like you belong to the cross.

5

u/Suitapes Jun 17 '21

We won't go quietly. The legion can count on that.

3

u/Alone_Capital7619 Jun 17 '21

Ave. True to Caeser.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 16 '21

The Last Spell

Still in early access/development but I simply can't stop playing it. Clocked in over 35 hours in less than 5 days

It's a roguelite turn-based RPG/Strategy game

2

u/Joesus056 Jun 16 '21

Spears so strong

4

u/idk_what-imdoing Jun 16 '21

red dead redemption 2. i started this game a few years late lol but the one annoying things is that if you hit someone with your horse(not even that hard)you can kill them and fail the mission lol, its kind of funny how lightly you can tap and kill someone but its still a fun ass game.

5

u/BlaseRaptor544 Jun 16 '21

Amazing game! It might feel a little slow at times but I believe you’re meant to take your time in the world and what it has to offer. The character development is awesome. Look forward to your thoughts! Enjoy!

3

u/lo_REZ90 Jun 17 '21

I have to say, no other game handles exploration and discovery like RDR2. The map reveals side quests, but you’d miss a lot if you don’t take it upon yourself to venture into the great unknown.

1

u/idk_what-imdoing Jun 17 '21

reminds me of the witcher 3 in a way, both games seem to have a lot of content that also can be hidden unless you explore

1

u/idk_what-imdoing Jun 17 '21

worth getting into it online? i wanted to start playing online after i got further into the story but im not even sure if anyone plays online that much anymore

2

u/sunsfan47 Jun 17 '21

Online sucks, I think rockstar realized RDO isnt the cash cow GTO is so they've pretty much put nothing into it content wise. When I played online it was so bare bones and boring it made me want to play single player again

2

u/el_muffinman Jun 17 '21

I like online more than story mode. The game is more arcade, so animals and quests and other things will respawn more often, but since there's a complete lack of updates like GTAO has, it feels like you're doing the same thing over and over and the grind gets you.

1

u/ChocolateRL Jun 18 '21

Absolute shite, don't waste you time.

5

u/Torzin Jun 16 '21

Demon Souls

2

u/Wado_Guy Jun 18 '21

Demons souls is best souls, bro. I played the shit out of it on ps3 and I intend to do so again once I can get my hands on a ps5.

1

u/Torzin Jun 19 '21

First go-round for me and I’m really enjoying it! I hope you get your hands on a PS5 soon

4

u/LPfor3v3r Jun 16 '21

I’ve been on a horror game kick (like always lol) so I’ve been playing Outlast 2! Definitely a great game that has actually made me jump and yell quite a few times already haha

2

u/BlaseRaptor544 Jun 16 '21

It’s good isn’t it? I like how it differs to other games as you just have a camera. Definitely try the first game and Whistleblower dlc after!

1

u/shakytubes Jun 16 '21

I really liked the first one but the second one was really boring to me. To the point that I couldn't finish it.

4

u/CharlieBrown20XD6 Jun 16 '21

Just downloaded FAR CRY PRIMAL because why not be a cave man

2

u/BigDough99 Jun 17 '21

That game is pretty fun. I spent 90% of the time just exploring lol

2

u/ChocolateRL Jun 18 '21

I just downloaded fc4. Never played it before.

1

u/CharlieBrown20XD6 Jun 18 '21

You get to ride elephants!

Plus the stealth bow and arrow/throwing knife combo is really effective

4

u/Krismilios Jun 17 '21

Assassins Creed Valhalla

9

Finally about to finish Red Dead Redemption 2.

Next up is The Forest & a game called Sagebrush.

1

u/BlaseRaptor544 Jun 16 '21

Awesome game! How have you found it so far?

1

u/ChocolateRL Jun 18 '21

I've tried three times to complete red dead and I just can't be fucked.

3

u/soapman888 Jun 16 '21

switching between far cry 4 and 5

2

u/BlaseRaptor544 Jun 16 '21

Playing 4 right now! It’s my favourite of the series!

2

u/ChocolateRL Jun 18 '21

Just downloaded and never played it before.

The general view appears to be that 4 is better than 5 so I went with 4

3

u/ThaSavageGoku Jun 16 '21

Aww man this week I decided to play Dragon Age 2 for the first time and man the story is soooo good. I can’t believe I didn’t pick this up. The graphics aren’t the best, but it’s ok. & I enjoy the combat more than inquisition so far.

3

u/elevanthe7 Jun 16 '21

Celeste for the fourth time

3

u/HarpieNoah Jun 16 '21

Finishing up Horizon Zero Dawn! Just got God of War in the mail yesterday, and I'm so ready to dive into that now.

Sekiro and To my surprise a little Game Pass gem Monster Train

3

u/SnooMacaroons911 Jun 17 '21

Dragons Dogma.

Playing it for the 100th times while waiting for a sequel

1

u/excitedguy Jun 18 '21

A sequel would be badass, if you haven't already, check out the anime for it on Netflix. It was pretty good.

3

u/BigDough99 Jun 17 '21

Just started the outer worlds

5

u/Evanyesce Jun 16 '21

I started playing chess recently. I know that's a turn off just hearing the word "chess" for a lot of gamers but honestly I feel like if more people gave it a bit of a chance they'd fall in love with it.

Once you get past the basic understanding of how the game works and key ideas the level of tactics and gameplan is immense. Its very addictive.

1

u/cooly1234 Jun 18 '21

5D chess with multiverse time travel

4

u/Astaroth90 Jun 16 '21

Witcher 3. Again. I can't believe what a fail cb2077 could be compared to this masterpiece.

2

u/take5b Jun 17 '21

How many times have you already played it? Are you going for any specific outcome, build, or added objectives?

(I already lost count of how many times I played and I'm still itching for another)

Dark souls 3, bloodborne, shadow of the colossus

2

u/Satrigon PlayStation Jun 16 '21

Dying light, kingdom come deliverance and yakuza 0, there are other games too I'm playing, but these three are the games I'm playing daily

3

u/[deleted] Jun 16 '21

Just a tip with Yakuza 0...don't burn out on side missions.

I usually get over games by around the 25 to 30hr mark, but I managed to clock around 50 hours in Yakuza 0. But I never finished it

Problem was...I spent way to much time on the side missions and I got burned out. In saying that, the side missions are so bloody charming! I'm not a completionist by any means and I usually skip most side quests but these are top notch!

2

u/X420StepsAheadX Jun 16 '21

Section 8 Prejudice

got a fight night coming up this weekend

there probs won't be a third game made for it which is what sucks about it....... also the sniper bots, they suck too!!!

2

u/Sorrixx Jun 16 '21

Damn I haven’t played that in years! Section 8 was awesome!

1

u/X420StepsAheadX Jun 16 '21

Still is 😎

1

u/OPsButthole6969 Jun 17 '21

Section 8 was dope! I want to jam prototype soon

2

u/[deleted] Jun 16 '21

Okami HD on PS4!

I never got around to playing it on ps2 and I'm so happy I got to play it now.

Definitely one of my favourite games of all time...and I haven't even finished it yet.

I was so close to dropping it early on...the early parts drag so much but once you really take control the game shines.

One gripe though...fuck the voices of the characters. Honestly if there wasn't an option to turn that shit off I would have dropped this game. Who thought that it was a good idea!?

2

u/FilthyCasualr Jun 16 '21

After UBI conference decided to revisit the Far Cry series. Had a chance to play the 3 one ages ago, any tips?

2

u/BlaseRaptor544 Jun 16 '21

Enjoy! I’m revisiting 4 in anticipation of 6!

1

u/OPsButthole6969 Jun 17 '21

My favorite one. Speaking Hindi gives you so much cultural satisfaction in that game

2

u/RealCryWolf Jun 16 '21

Bought Last Epoch today and having a blast lvling a Necromancer ( summoner )

2

u/SmashingQuasar Jun 16 '21

About to start a full Dark Souls trilogy playthrough probably followed by a Sekiro execution. I'll probably die more than Take Two after this year's E3.

1

u/xRule63x Jun 17 '21

Ay started that a month Ago Got Dark souls 1 and 3 done close to beating DS2.

1

u/SmashingQuasar Jun 17 '21

How do you like them so far? I already have 100% all of them multiple times and I can't get enough.

1

u/xRule63x Jun 17 '21

Oh I love the series I'm not new to it! Just replaying all of them, I've never actually 100% them and I never actually beat BB so I'm excited to play through it after DS2. Not sure if I'm gonna replay Sekiro tho.

2

u/Joesus056 Jun 16 '21

Path of exile. There is a hardcore gauntlet event where if you hit lvl 90 you get entered to win a 4k$ pc

1

u/yax51 Jun 17 '21

PoE is what Diablo 3 should have been.

2

u/XsSlayeR3 Jun 16 '21

Has to be Dead By Daylight with the new RE DLC (Even if the new map got disabled 1 hour after release :( )

2

u/BlaseRaptor544 Jun 16 '21

Far Cry 4! Thought I’d play in anticipation for 6 😁

2

2

u/bfhurricane Jun 16 '21

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart

Resident Evil: Biohazard

Star Wars Squadrons (free on PS+)

Yakuza 0 (bought on a recommendation from a friend, haven’t started yet)

2

u/LetHerWar2 Jun 16 '21

Just finished a short hike, sensational.

2

u/XKingslayerBSJ Jun 16 '21

Darkest Dungeon. Pretty tough.

2

u/Tyrannitart Jun 17 '21

Who’s your favorite type of character so far?

2

u/XKingslayerBSJ Jun 17 '21

So I have kind of a main team I have got to level 3 so far.

Thestral (heals) Highwayman 3rd. My Front is the Helion and then my 2nd is either the crusader sometimes or the grave robber.

I killed 2 bosses and got some good very rare trinkets that buff crit and acc so I slapped them both on the Highwayman and just let his Grapshot wreck shit.

Once I got past the first couple levels and started levelling people a bit it has been better. I haven't done any lvl 3 missions yet though and am only playing on easy to get started lol

2

u/Ok-Fudge8848 Jun 16 '21

Metroid: Samus Returns again. Getting hype after Metroid Dread finally being announced :D

2

u/Spoonicorn_Central Jun 16 '21

Terraria, Smash Ultimate, and Animal Crossing!

2

u/ZeroCloned Jun 16 '21

AC Valhalla. I'm digging it, i like it quite a bit, but mannnnnn is it LONG. I'm like 80+ hours in and i dont even think i'm halfway through the game lol. (based on how many regions of England i havent been to yet)

2

u/DoctorM1M Jun 16 '21

Dead Space 3. Not a huge fan of the weapons modification aspect, but otherwise a pretty similar experience to the other two. 1 is still my favourite

2

u/commandermatt21 Jun 17 '21

Final Fantasy VII

2

u/SaltyCalligrapher128 Jun 17 '21

Realm of the mad god exalt

2

Borderlands 3! Although I only started it to prolong the end of Zelda BOTW but now I’m fully addicted and need to go cold Turkey so I can finish the absolutely wonderful Zelda.

Want help?

1

u/excitedguy Jun 18 '21 edited Jun 18 '21

I got sucked into that game for months and realized I was only playing it to do virtual chores and not having fun anymore (only to fulfill the obligation of having to do weekly/daily "activities" so I don't fall behind the power curve), so I decided to quit a few months ago.

I should warn you though that the game has gone kind of pay 2 win lately. In trade chat, you will see a ton of people selling carries though all the content in the game for gold, which can be bought with real money via wow tokens. So if you wanted to do rated pvp like I did, you will find out the hard way like I did that you will be up against the best skilled/geared players boosting others even in the lower brackets.

As long as you're having fun though, go for it!

1

u/Crissagrym Jun 16 '21

Zelda Skyward Sword on Switch.

Release today, depending on when Amazon can deliver.

4

u/hamhog23 Jun 16 '21

It comes out July 16th…

3

u/Crissagrym Jun 16 '21

I just noticed when I check my Amazon pre order……

So looks like I need another game to play this month, Guilty Gear is looking good at the moment….

1

u/MrLegacy718 Jun 16 '21

Destiny 2, I'm enjoying the Season of the Splicer and enjoying the story and Lore!

I'm also playing Death Stranding and I tell you what, if you told me 4 years ago that I can throw my own shit at invisible ghost I looked at you like you were insane...lol

1

u/Leramar89 PC Jun 16 '21

Metroid Prime 2 and Total War: Shogun 2

1

u/direstraits291 Jun 16 '21

I am playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and started the game again (proving to be as much fun as before). I also picked up Mass Effect Legendary Edition and am thoroughly enjoying playing this - about mid way through 2 and completing the loyalty missions.

1

u/AgentOfSPYRAL Jun 16 '21

ME2 and 3 still really hold up, few games have paired that level of blockbuster action and player agency.

1

u/direstraits291 Jun 16 '21

ME2 is awesome and I am looking forward to diving further in soon when I get a chance.

1

u/cooly1234 Jun 18 '21

The end of ME2 is amazing don't let any1 spoil it.

1

u/RomanusStijkelvarken Switch Jun 16 '21

Guilty Gear Strive

1

u/Kassandra_Lionspire Jun 16 '21

Ill play chivarly 2. The balancing is horrible, its very repetetive and it doesn't feel like there is a purpose playing it but I like knights

1

u/Ispira202 Jun 16 '21

Going through reignited trilogy on Gnasty Gnorc

1

u/royalpeenpeen Jun 16 '21

Mass Effect LE and Furi

1

u/TitaniumDragon Jun 16 '21
  • Kingdom Hearts 3 on PC. First time playing it. I am at Monsteropolis. The game is mediocre. I do like that a lot of the worlds do far haven't just been mediocre retellings of the movies but the plot is still very bad, and the core gameplay has been mediocre apart from the bosses. I have had more fun with the Gummi Ship than the actual core gameplay.

  • It Takes Two on PC. Great coop game, lots of variety in gameplay. I am not buying the idea that the characters will get back together and hope they get divorced.

  • Running a D&D campaign for the first time in years and am having a blast.

1

u/PeopleAreBonkers Jun 16 '21

I'm currently playing through the kingdom hearts series with my daughter. I originally played kh3 having only played 1&2 and I found the plot to be utterly confusing. Now that I have gone through the... First like, 4 games, things are starting to make sense.

Still bloody confusing though

1

u/FlightJust1904 Jun 16 '21

I've been playing Cs.Go on Exeedme platform. I play2earn on the platform and I have won some XED token and NFT

1

u/MellissaEpstein Jun 16 '21

Me too man, it's a good platform, and you can earn while playing. It's not a life-changing amount, but at least I'm not playing for free anymore.

1

u/OnePunchedAngel Jun 16 '21

I just beat monster boy cursed kingdom yesterday, and it was so good I'm playing through the monster boy 3 remake. My wife put 1000 hours on the Master System version and still remembers most of the secrets.

1

u/elsiphono Jun 16 '21

Started Star Wars Squadrons. Great Star Wars ambiance, need time to adjust to the controls but, I don't know, it seems to be lacking something in the game. I think the dogfight lack dynamism (english is my second language and I'm searching the right word).

Like Rogue Squadron II, the battles were pretty intense from start to finish (Hoth and Endor were awesome). In Squadrons, the flow of battle is inconsistent and, more than I like it, slow. Maybe I'm not enough advanced yet. For now, I give 6.5/10.

1

u/Seasea32 Jun 16 '21

Hunt Showdown

Great game, it's a really cool experience to not have any automatic guns, and to rely on sound as much as you have to.

1

u/Sartorixs Jun 16 '21

Open beta of Humankind. Pretty exited

1

u/StarVixen96 Jun 16 '21

Chivalry 2 and I both hate and love everything about it!

1

u/bland_meatballs Jun 16 '21

It Takes Two. I just started playing with it with my wife a few days ago and it's one of my top 5 favorite games now. It's challenging but not imposst for someone who isn't a hardcore gamer. The levels offer a lot of variety and the puzzles are unique and fun. I highly recommend this game, especially if you have someone you can play couch co-op with.

1

u/cjpack Jun 16 '21

Finally giving pillars of eternity another shot, on paper it’s exactly my type of game, but have to get used to some of the mechanics and lots of lore dense reading

1

u/TonalOne Jun 16 '21

Escape from Tarkov - challenging FPS yet rewarding if you make it out

1

u/BlaseRaptor544 Jun 16 '21

Would you say it’s stealth based too?

1

u/TonalOne Jun 16 '21

It can be - it’s all in your play style. Some people like to rush towards fights for the PVP while others like to sneak around and loot to build up their hideout.

1

u/MackySacky Jun 16 '21

Phantasy Star Online New Genesis has been out for a week now and its been a pretty mixed bag. The game is actually pretty fun for an mmo, combat is fairly satisfying, the enemy designs are some of the best I've seen, and the overall world is just eyecandy. And then theres the bad. Theres around a week of content if you play about 2 hours a day. I reached the end in about 3 days. Theres actually nothing left to do aside from daily/weekly quests, and chatting with other people. And of course theres the server lag that can really bog the experience down. The whole experience ends up feeling a bit disappointing, mainly because I actually really enjoyed myself, but there really wasnt enough to bite into, and now I'm just left waiting for more content.

Guilty Gear Strive is a bit out of my comfort zone. Not much of a 2D fighter player, (Way more into platform fighters like Melee),but had some experience with Blazblue games so I thought why not. $60 is a bit steep though. Definitely having some fun with it, but can't say I understand what makes this game so much better than Blazblue. I dove headfirst into the tutorials and watching some videos, which honestly does feel more like work then gaming, but after I built up a decent understanding of the game I jumped in, picked a main (Leo whitefang), came out with some really unoptimal combos i can call my own, and hopped into ranked. Lots of fun once you get into it, but definitely hard to break that entry wall.

1

u/comic2 Jun 16 '21

Mass Effect 2 (remaster)

1

u/badbd09 Jun 17 '21

Shadow of colossus on ps3

1

u/take5b Jun 17 '21

Nothing. I'm in a gaming funk where nothing seems appealing and I don't have the patience or interest in anything so it's time to take a break. Especially after recently trying one of the most beloved games of the last 10 years- Breath of the Wild- and finding it be such a tedious bore, I gotta step away for a bit, hopefully to return with renewed gaming vigor when something appeals to me.

1

u/paingame2001 Jun 17 '21

Im 4 hours in final fantasy 15 so far im definitely gonna finish cause i like final fantasy in general but i wont go too in depth with multiplayer and such. Ill just finish the main story and be on my way there are other games i wanna play too

E3 Switch Sales got me picking up stuff I was curious to play A) Golf Story - charming as I read in the reviews. It is a very quirky cute story and made me appreciate how soothing golf is.

B) Doom Eternal: As a gamer who played in the 90s and started again 5 years ago, this game is part of a nostalgia list. I just want to play it because I want to catch up with my 90s mascots and see the updated graphics. It is surprisingly difficult as I am starting on normal mode. Also, it is az nauseatic as the original one in the 90s because it is easy to get lost in its mazes. However, the game is a blast because there are tons of epically cinematic moments.

Starting up The Long Dark again.... Interloper run. Fun single player sandbox survival. I love the quiet peaceful moments this game brings. Also love the Perma death feature which creates more meaningful gameplay.

I'm a day late but I've been working on my fallout 76 roleplay series. I decided to reboot from my old series and have been exploring the concept of how to explain how a "new" character comes out of the vault technically a year later. I feel like Bethesda sort of dropped the ball there a little bit, or they left it up to the players to decide. I for one am big on trying to keep things canon.

Then I saw the teaser trailer for the Pitt in Fallout 76, kinda miffed over that. I'd rather explore a new location even though I never explored the Pitt since I didn't come into fallout until New Vegas.

I am trying hollow knight on my switch for the first time.

I enjoy the art and the atmosphere of the game.

I am slightly overwhelmed by the genre. I guess people would call this a metroidvania style game. Perhaps I am used to video games that are more linear.

Halo MC collection on Gamepass, which is really depressing because I used to be so good at Halo on the 360 and I’m lacking in skills now. 😂 SWBF2 is also in my FPS Rotation…

I’m also playing KH3 off of Gamepass and I’m in Monstropolis. It’s about as “meh” as I remember.

Yakuza Like a Dragon and Dragon Age are up next.

I just bought an indie rougelike called “Deathroad to Canada”. It’s basically Oregon trail but zombies, so that should keep me occupied for a while.
