I'm just now binging titans, its been okay so far but her death was just all of a sudden. She could of easily moved out of the way or rachel, Conner or anyone could've stopped her death?? It was just so out of place for her to die. it pissed me off honestly 😭😭

Discussion Am I the only one who's confused

I've finished watching the first 2 seasons of Titans and I still couldn't wrap my head around Donna's death. Now in S3, we are introduced to red hood who also happened to be Todd, and it's just so confusing how they are all manipulated by the sociopathic version of todd when it's clear that most (if not all of them) are physically and mentally better than him. It just doesn't add up, how he was able to trick hank, dawn, and everyone when the first two seasons built his character as someone who doesn't even think twice and oftentimes makes mistakes. Now he's able to outwit everyone else???

Discussion [SPOILERS] Well, can we talk about why the writer just cut Rose/Jericho off suddenly? Like we deserve to know where he/she at or where he/she left right?

Discussion Blackfire Should’ve been the Season Three Villain.

I really believe not making such an important Teen Titans villain, a villain, was a terrible decision. It’s very clear that when she was first introduced she was meant to be a villain so what changed? Blackfire would’ve fixed many issues that season 3 had.

One of them being it didn’t feel very Titans oriented. Blackfire being the big bad would’ve ensured the show is indeed about the Titans while involving the Titans in the plot. Starfire would’ve been the main focus but as we can see in season 3, her plot always involved the actual titans. Meanwhile with Dick it just feels like he leaned on Barbara way more than he ever did on his “family.”

Another issue was power levels. We see that Conner, Kory, Donna, and Rachel didn’t have a single truly memorable fight scene because they were stuck fighting gotham thugs all season. Each titan named is a powerhouse who deserves a powerhouse villain. The show seemed to have nerf Blackfire for the changes they wanted to take but I assure you comic Blackfire is absolutely no joke. It was also mentioned that she’d be bringing a legion with her in season 2 which means she could’ve brought a royal guard of tamaraneans, each with a specialization to fight the powerhouse titans. Showing that Blackfire did her research while ensuring all the powerhouse Titans get shine. Hell we even see that magic exists on Tamaran so a magic wielding tamaranean could’ve faced off with Rachel.

I could continue to go on but I think my point is clear. I understand Titans wanted to do Red Hood badly but they could’ve still done him while making Blackfire the over-arching big bad. I even found that the scenes where Blackfire was written to be villainous was much more compelling than Red Hood’s. No hate to Jason’s actor, Blackfire’s just felt better at being villainous and mischievous.

Discussion I absolutely can’t stand Tim Drake

He’s extremely annoying, cheesy, cringy and irritating. They just forced this character that came out of nowhere into the show. Really? Some random kid tells you youre nightwing and you take him in instead of interrogating him? Some random kid tells you being robin is his destiny and you just go “sure, come with us”. He does some cringy kick and he’s suddenly a titan and your parents leave him with them? It’s ridiculous and it doesn’t make any sense.

He also looks nothing like Tim Drake but horrible casting is common in this show.

Discussion The writing for this show gets worse every season, the characters are great but the weak writing ruins it

Deathstroke is my favourite character and he was actually awesome and the suit looked great, then they cop out and he has the worst ending ever.

Season 3 is worse though, they made scarecrow a babbling stoner? He’s supposed to be cold, calculated and granted psychotic but they just made him a stoner with no real plan, casting was off as was the writing

If we get a season 4, I’d love some new writers to make it more dark and gritty and to keep it fresh

Discussion Titans are sidelined in their own show

Season one: Introduction and background of the titans.

Season two: Focused on everything else expect the titans. All about Deathstroke and Dick

Season three: Titans are there as backup or plot devices and are barely necessary. Focused on Dick, batman and Jason. An actual titan villain (Blackfire) not doing anything.

Seriously. Is there an actual reason as to why the Titans are being sidelined? I'm guessing these writers are unintentionally making everything about Dick and batman, but it literally makes no sense to have a show about titans and barely do a thing with them. Considering a lot of people are watching the show for the actual titans.

Discussion I’m so confused??..

I’m sorry but I watched titans season 1 and 2 and loved it. When I first watched season 1 I thought, wow DC is finally getting their shit together! But what is happening with season 3? Im practically forcing myself to watch it for kory’s sake.

Why is Batman the big bad? I understand he wasn’t the best father to dick but I just feel like they’re trying to pin everything as that happens on him which feels odd? Why place so much focus on him esp when the show didn’t start out like this? And where is raven? Why is Jason scarecrows henchman?

This show is just losing me at this point like it’s getting bad

Discussion This scene literally pisses me TF off!! all these idiots blamed him for WHAT? How tf would jason even know their past? they literally bullied a 19 year old into almost taking his own life aren’t Titans supposed to be the “good ones” Wtaf? No one even apologized to him later..

Discussion Let’s talk about S3 and some ships

Hi, I just wanted to talk or discuss with someone about some of the ships of the show, this might contain spoilers of S3 if someone hasn’t watched it yet and spoilers from comics related to Titans. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s go on…

•Is the ship between Blackfire and Superboy only for this show?? Because I hadn’t heard of it before now and couldn’t find anything about them, what are your opinions about this ship?

Ay first I was a bit against it, but that might be because I just finished watching Young Justice Phantom the day before and there it’s my main ship with superboy and other alien, but I ended really liking this pair, they ended up being cute and they understood each other so they had a good connection, still I’m not expecting to see more of them in the show, or at least not until the end of the show or if some day Blackfire comes back.

• Do you think Garfield and Rachel are finally going to be together in this show?

I’m a big fan of this ship, I know I’m the comics they’re cannon but on every adaptation there is they don’t get to end up together, in the animated movies and series BB ends with other girl or there is a big age gap between them and Teen Titans was cancelled before they got to explore the ship (since they’re actually planing on making them a couple in the future), so I’m really hoping this time they get together, they have made implications that Garfield might have a crush on Rachel and they’re always there for each other and show that they care for one another, but for now they seem to have a good friendship (and they’re super cute), so what are your thoughts??

r/TitansTV Dec 01 '21

Discussion If they decide to bring in a new character, it should honestly be Wally West. He’s Dick’s closest and best friend. With him, I think we’d get to see more of Dick’s fun and childish side which is really needed.

Discussion Why do people think the budget is the thing that holds Garfield character back?

And not the writers who really don’t do nothing for his character and just like to have him there because he was part of a famous lineup(and a cartoon show)

Discussion I'm not looking forward to Dick and Kory

I just finished the season and I have my issues with it even though there were moments I enjoyed. My main issue was the writing, especially because it made the characters react oddly when things happened. Horrible things occurred, I mean people died, but everyone seems fine with it. And when they do bad things there are no real consequences for their actions. Dick's regression was a disappointment too, since he goes through the same story arc every season. The random naked lady was a weird thing to see too. That entire scene didn't need to be in the show, so why include it?

I've seen posts about these points, so I won't go into it, but one thing I found weird was Dick and Kory's relationship. The writers said that Dick and Kory fans would be happy this season, but I don't get how though. Dick never really talked to Kory this season, he talked at her most of the time. It was jarring, considering they did seem to have a good working relationship in the previous seasons. There was one scene where Kory was talking to Dick and he spent most of the scene looking at his computer, while she was looking at him. In the last episode, he said something, she said not to expect miracles and he told her to basically make it happen in a fairly rude way.

Maybe it wasn't rude, but Dick was a dick for most of the season so.

All of their interactions felt off to me. Then he has his dreamscape thing and sees his future daughter. A black daughter and even though he smiles when he sees her and even more so when she calls him daddy, he doesn't really care about what this implies. I mean, at the end of the season he goes to Barbara and asks her to come with them.....huh?

I don't really care if they give us Dick and Kory, mainly because I don't think they'd be written well, but Dick seems to show no emotion that he'll have a daughter with Kory, because he goes back to Barbara at the end. That's what gets me. He sees his daughter and he goes to Barbara. Is this what Dick and Kory fans were hoping for? Barbara stayed behind so I guess he'll jump back into Kory's bed, since the one he really wants isn't with him anymore..... Great setup for a couple that is a Titans staple. Makes me really want to ship them together.

The writing for the show has issues, but I don't understand what they are doing with Dick and Kory. He's pining for Barbara and Kory has an inappropriate therapist. But hey, at least they'll have a kid together in the future. Yay!

Please make this make sense to me, because I don't get it.

Discussion Do you think Crisis on Infinite Earth's is what caused the change in direction?

Basically the title. This has likely been talked about, but I only just now thought of it. We are shown that the titans universe is affected by COIE (even if just in repurposed clips), and this would mostly explain the narrative shift. It's also just as, if not more, likely that the producers/writers just didn't care about the blackfire set up.

Discussion I am loving Season 3 (up to E7)

From how they’ve really explored scarecrow as a character almost as menacing as the joker (Nolan’s Scarecrow pales in comparison), to how Dick Grayson walks around not in costume doing detective work half the time. And starfire has really bloomed this season.
