I gather this man will not like the fact that the right wing see him as antifa, lol.

They don’t actually think that. It’s a game. They lie.

32

u/SponConSerdTent Oct 21 '21

Many of them get off on lying, just like their big orange daddy.

It's fun to them. Also like their big orange daddy, however, they do not like the consequences when they get caught in the lie and will get very pissed off.

19

u/Izlude Oct 21 '21

Yup, I had a lady come to my sign shop a while back and ask for a Q sticker. I asked why she'd want to spread such dangerous and easily disproven conspiracy theories. She simply chortled, "oh I just think they're fun!" After I didnt laugh with her, she stormed out.

u/zach_jf_boyles Oct 20 '21 This

And this is how you get terrorists who are even scarier than the current domestic terrorists we have…

How? By Garland refusing to prosecute the people who incited the insurrection and attack on the capital? Or do you mean giving these terrorists who did storm the Capital a slap on the wrist for trying to overthrow democracy? Or do you mean allowing right wing media to spread lies all over the airwaves and social media to obfuscate what happened on Jan 6?

I mean, there are a lot of different ways to make domestic terrorists scarier than the current ones we have, and we seem to be doing all of them!

36

u/KeepMy02Cents Oct 20 '21

Why do we do this? Please people when these crimes are committed we need to prosecute the offenders. If someone burns a building arrest them and charge them with arson. If they charge the capitol charge them with what ever that's called. Not doing anything to people that conduct illegal activities with protesting is giving the ok for them to become a rioter and not a protester.

Tbf Christ showed up in a Roman controlled city during a holy festival, called himself Rex over it. Flipped tables and assaulted people in the temple, inciting the crowd, and his ARMED followers were chopping Roman ears off, again in a Roman controlled province. I'm surprised he made it to crucifixion and wasn't just hacked down in the streets for calling himself a king over a Roman city, Romans don't like Kings.

there are bad cops, and a system that needs them to be bad so it can profit. those who try to do the right thing, are remove

eg the Ronald Greene murder, an officer spoke up and he was fired under these conditions....

violations for public statements, loyalty to the department, dissemination of information, seeking publicity and conduct unbecoming of an officer.

after beating Greene death, they told his family he crashed into a tree, although it was on body-cam... you cannot fix that system.

God I fucking hate how trumpies have made the American flag and anything American look like you’re supporting trump

130

u/panisch420 Oct 20 '21

funny you say that. so here in germany almost nobody flies the german flag. it's not a common thing, it's not culture. if you see flags of a nation, it's most likely foreign. it's not that we arent allowed to, but history made it somewhat frowned upon for us germans to be showing national pride.

it's slowly coming back, but often people "waving the german flag and being proud of their country" are associated with right wing neo nazis. (exception here are big football events where everyone and their mom is sporting SCHWARZROTGOLD, but only for the period of that event)

it can definitely get tainted.

no im not trying to compare the reason/origin of the background behind this.

23

u/COL_Schnitzel Oct 20 '21

It happens to be that, historically, nationalism has had strong ties to other unsavory beliefs. It's unfortunate, but 'tis how it it

42

u/rexjoropo Oct 20 '21

In Canada it's really not common for people to fly the flag. We love and respect our country, but we're not fucking insane about it. We sureky dont "love" the flag, what does that even mean?

My take is that the USA is a fine country despite its flaws and the majority of Americans I've met are really fine people ... But the USA is simply not the greatest nation in the world, largely because too many people think it is.

10

u/DoJu318 Oct 20 '21

It's because these type of assholes who proclaim to be Patriots are the same who make that their whole personality, they have nothing else going for them, coincidentally gun nuts are the same way.

12

u/ProfPyncheon Oct 20 '21

As children in public schools in the United States we are forced to "pledge allegiance" to the FLAG every morning for 12 or so years. Not our country, or government, or anything else, we are forced to declare loyalty to a piece of colored cloth. And in all fairness, you didn't see nearly as many American flag motifs flying around until after 9/11. After that, Nationalism wasn't just fashionable, it was mandatory. I remember getting hassled at my job at a hotel by know-it-all rednecks because the flag we had outside was slightly damaged. In the middle of a Florida summer. When it storms every day. I was also not responsible for replacing flags since I worked in the catering dept. I'm rambling, here. Point is: America has a very weird, almost religious devotion to a piece a fabric that's only been around in it's current state for about 70 years.

Treason is a specific crime requiring specific actions, and it would be very difficult to charge that for even the worst of the Jan 6th terrorists.

Seditious Conspiracy on the other hand fits the actions of many.

Whether or not there is evidence that's likely to result in a criminal conviction is another thing though.

They’re white that’s why! Duhhhh

103

u/lifeiscooliguess Oct 20 '21

Wasn't it a black one that shot her too. So all of the white cops showed incredible restraint when the crowd looked like them

73

u/Corgi-Ambitious Oct 20 '21

It has been consistently proven that this is true - a police force shows statistically significantly higher restraint for people that look like them, likely fit along the same party lines as them, and likely hold similar views to them. On the flip side, they are statistically shown to be more punitive to those that do not look like them, and likely do not hold their same political and moral views as them.

It is the main reason that the Jan. 6th riots got as far as they did without any violence - the cops held themselves back because a majority of the force agreed with what the people outside the Capitol were doing to various degrees - they just never believed 'their people' would turn their rage directly towards them until it was too late.

Compare the police's reactions to this group of people against their reaction and treatment to people in the BLM protests. Violence for violence's sake. Arresting people however they could as opposed to taken every precaution not to arrest. This is what they mean by all this being a systemic issue across the police force around America - there are clear party affiliations for the police and their treatment for 'in-groups' vs. 'out-groups' is only becoming more stark, day-by-day.

Every time I see clips like this I think the same thing. If these people were a minority group they would’ve been mowed down and the national guard would’ve been there and they’d be charged with serious crimes left and right.

My apathy for the state of this country honestly can’t get much lower. I’m just along for the ride at this point.

48

u/satansheat Oct 20 '21

Trump left them with no men or fire power to handle that. They were left with the bare minimum on purpose. This needs more attention. It wasn’t a sudden thing to happen. Clearly Trump knew ahead of time if he is telling police and national guard to fuck off.

They didn’t shoot because they didn’t have the fire power to handle that crowd. Shoot all your 11 rounds of a your pistol and now you might have 3 dead protestors but about 100 more coming at you with all they got now.

A gunfight at the capitol would have been devastating on all fronts.

That's the thing though....all it took was one shot to snap them out of their LARP. There wasn't going to be a gun fight, because the moment they faced resistance, once the delusion was broken and the reality of the situation set in, they tucked their tails between their legs and started blaming Antifa.

As scary as the situation was, Trump sent an army of diabetics and mentally ill people to do his bidding. There was little chance they'd succeed....chances are Trump was hoping for a bloodbath, he sent those people in as cannon fodder to rile up conservative media.

A high-ranking Capitol Police officer, who was also a vocal Donald Trump supporter, told those under his command not to wear riot gear on January 6, according to internal documents reviewed by CNN that detail allegations submitted to an officer tip line. -- https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/17/politics/capitol-police-officers-concerns-january-6-documents/index.html

15

u/N_Who Oct 20 '21

The kind of restraint we'd like to see police forces across the country display, in their day-to-day duties.

Except, here, that restraint was employed in one of the few cases where many people wouldn't expect it to be displayed at all.

u/Pitiful-Helicopter71 Oct 20 '21

3

u/JudeThadeus Oct 20 '21

Absolutely incredible restraint by the capitol police that day.

I'm going to say that this was likely by direction. Given a different political persuasion of a crowd I'd think they'd have had several days mopping up the blood and viscera.

106

u/LacidOnex Oct 20 '21

Because bullet for bullet, the terrorists are known for being very well armed, and the capitol police knew they'd be massacred if they tried to open fire.

Ashley Babbitts death didn't stop the insurrection. That traitorous cunt died because she knew the crowd was getting in. She just had the arrogance to want to be first.

88

u/EricSanderson Oct 20 '21 edited Oct 20 '21

There's no reason it should have been the capitol police. The national guard had been activated all year to stop people from breaking into Target. The same people who didn't call in backup were the same ones who prevented police from shooting.

And the Babbitt shot absolutely stopped things from getting worse. As you said, they were getting ready to breach that door. Why else would they suddenly stop?

20

u/mvs7142 Oct 20 '21

They did try to activate the NG. 45 and his minions delayed the action.

11

u/EricSanderson Oct 20 '21

Exactly. They were the same people who ordered the capitol police not to use force.

In reality, as long as the people in the building have time to get to safety, it’s probably safer for everyone to just let them have the building and sort it out after seeing what is going on, get the appropriate response, and a plan to execute.

This makes me sick. Damn traitors. Trumps very fine people.

4

u/SethAndBeans Oct 21 '21

I love my country. I went to war for America. I respect the flag and love what it stands for. Hope. Freedom.

I sure as fuck don't love insurrectionists who try to overthrow it.

I express my love by, you know, voting for things I believe in. Equal rights. Freedom to pursue the American dream for all peoples, especially immigrants (like my white irish ancestors did). I express my love for America by calling out Q-Cultists because they're the antithesis of what America means.

Fuck these traitors.

u/Hypno_Coon Oct 20 '21

The fact that he did this in a bastardized literal army uniform is a punch to the gut. This piece of trash disgraces every service member who ever wore it.

7

u/queenmother72 Oct 20 '21

But he hates this person in particular for some unknown reason? Ok family. Shut the phuck up. He’s a piece of shit, just like everyone else there that day. I swear to god, if nothing serious is done to these people and that Orange Satan, nothing will ever change.

20

u/Equalfire_A Oct 20 '21

So patriotic they want another civil war and lose it like they did in the past

8

u/MightyMouseIN Oct 20 '21

They're too stupid to realize that it's not hard to know who the scum is and where they hang their hats.. Easy pickings for a well trained sniper and more deadly than some clown that watched a couple spray and pray morons.

Piece of shit thug

22

u/Levowitz159 Oct 20 '21

There's not a single "good" person in that crowd, I hope that's abundantly clear to everyone. These are all fundamentally broken, sad, horrible people who deserve so much worse than they're ultimately going to get.

Too bad those cops never opened fire on those dumb fucks. Save the courts/lawyers/judges some time.

7

u/samaral519 Oct 20 '21

I view these people and anyone who support them as domestic terrorist who are hell bound on destroying the union and the constitution.

7

u/Metalliquotes Oct 20 '21

Right to jail

7

u/That-Mastodon-7045 Oct 20 '21

So do police officers forget they have guns when they're actually under threat?

11

u/satansheat Oct 20 '21

They were understaffed and under armed thanks to Trump.

Also no shooting someone in a high streets situation like that can end badly. Let’s take the one cop who lead them down the wrong hallway. That cop had a 9mm pistol. Probably held about 11-15 rounds. While he had about 50-100 protestor running at him down a hallway.

If you shoot an entire clip of a pistol into a crowd you will probably only really take out 3-5 people. Now you have no ammo or have to reload and you still have 90 people charging you.

The reason that cop got medals and shit wasn’t just because he lead them away. It was because he showed great restraint that would have ended with him probably being beat to death if you shot into that crowd when it was just him dealing with them.

7

u/Crazyhairmonster Oct 20 '21

Had he shot they would have scattered like roaches, not assault into a hail of gunfire.
