In and Out Burger ( maybe just one franchise?) told SanFran they will not enforce the city’s vax card requirement to eat. They’re not the police, if the city wants it enforce, station cops. Make it very clear what’s happening. This is what it’s going to take; Cloward-Piven the various government agencies until they hurt.

The health department shut them down. But I’m going to buy from them (the company) when ever I can.

365

u/ottorama41 Oct 20 '21

Every In n Out is corporate owned so this is a company decision. I love their burgers even more now.

82

Good to hear. Good for them.

133

u/feuilles_mortes Oct 20 '21

In n Out has always been a Christian business too, at least to the extent of printing Bible citations on their food packaging. As far as I know it's been family owned for the 70ish years it's been around and the family is Christian.

I know not everyone here is Christian, but I've always appreciated it and this makes me love In n Out even more too!

65

u/Burner_I_Barely_Even Oct 20 '21

Not Christian but I respect any company/person that stands by their own values instead of the ideological flavor of the week.

It's not an issue of pro or anti vaccine. It's a matter of freedom vs supporting/enforcing mandates.

I realize that, just saying that's one reason I've always liked them besides the food. Hence why I pointed out them being Christian is not going to matter to everyone here.

Unfortunately none that prevent you from being fired, except religion. If I could use logic to argue with the federal government and not have to be vaccinated to keep my job I would. Sadly all I can do is ask for a religious exemption.

Democrats are really on some Jim Crow shit over here. African Americans don’t trust drugs from the government, and there is amazing reasons why. Recent ones too.

So democrats respond by requiring an ID and an experimental drug to enter a business. I guess black lives don’t really matter to them.

NJ requires me visit a police station, complete multiple forms, have friends fill out forms, take off work to get fingerprinted at a different site(have to be able to drive) and pay almost $100 in fees just to exercise a constitutional right. This can possibly take months depending on how your department feels about you(or just reject you). How the hell are Democrats okay with that but not voter ID?

17

u/PenIsMightier69 Conservative Oct 20 '21

All states that have voter ID laws provide a voter ID free of charge for those who don't already have a valid ID (like a driver's license). Nearly all people already have a valid ID since you need it to do basically anything including eat a burger now, so the cost to provide an ID to those who don't have one are quite small. I haven't actually heard that argument from the left.

4

That's the only argument I've heard from the left. I only hear that they think they're too stupid from fox and epoch type outlets.

8

u/anteris Oct 20 '21

Given that some DMVs are open every 5th Wednesday… pretty sure it’s not money

9

u/cjcs Oct 20 '21

Yeah it seems like access is an issue more so than the raw cost of paying for the ID.

5

u/tulkas66 Oct 20 '21

I can definitely get behind that reasoning

2

u/toriemm Oct 20 '21

Sure, but as we creep up on massive housing insecurity in the US, a vital thing to getting an ID is an address. So while cost may not be the only hoop to jump through, coming up with proof of residency is the other obstacle.

Not having an ID really does not exist. I can think of a dozen different things that you have to have an ID from going to the Doctor ,to recieving medication from pharmacy ,getting any kind of aid from the government, enrolling your children in school . getting a library card . Getting vaccinated!. Not possible to live in the USA without an ID, unless you're illegal. I guess that's why we got so many people unvaccinated thay don't have an ID. 😂😂

Why do you need an ID to buy a burger?

84

u/sweetmoosejr Oct 20 '21

I was visiting Canada recently, in order to sit down in a restaurant, you have to show proof of vaccination as well as government issued photo ID. If you don't, you aren't staying (you can get it to go and wait outside). Pretty crazy, and that's what dem cities are turning in to as well.

43

u/InfiniteExperience Conservative Oct 20 '21

I'm Canadian - the stupidest part of the whole thing is that your waiter/waitress doesn't have to be vaccinated unless the employer mandates a vaccine. Though restaurants are so short staffed I doubt very many are being picky.

23

u/sweetmoosejr Oct 20 '21

Really??? Lol, its crazy the stupidity of these rules that all these governments pass. Rules that often contradict each other or have zero proof that they accomplish anything except make people "feel" safe.

18

u/Everything80sFan Libertarian Conservative Oct 20 '21

The goal of most of these rules isn't to accomplish any sort of safety measures. It's to exercise power and control, no matter how small or petty, and then to demand more power and control.

I'm sure comments already have said this, but there is something worth noting about this:

Voting must be free ("Free and Fair elections"). There really are voting eligible people who cannot afford State Issued IDs, or cannot get to the DMV. We could resolve this dispute by creating national ID cards that everyone gets for free (not a novel idea).

4

u/toriemm Oct 20 '21

Or tied to addresses. State issued ID hinges on proving residency, which means a name on bills or an address of some kind.

We have a national identification system, assigned at birth. Social security #s. It wouldn't be a huge jump to turn those into national ID cards.
